Your Non-Toxic Baby Essentials Questions Answered

What makes these baby essentials 'non-toxic'?

These essentials are chosen with delicate skin in mind. Our organic bamboo pieces, like our nursing pads and sleepwear, are soft and breathable, and our silicone pieces are BPA-free. Each product page lists its exact materials and care.

Are bamboo sleeping bags safe for newborns?

Absolutely! Our bamboo sleeping bags are designed for bubs from birth to 18 months and feature a 1.0 TOG rating, making them ideal for comfortable, safe sleep across a range of temperatures. Bamboo is naturally breathable and temperature-regulating, which helps reduce the risk of overheating. They're a wonderful alternative to loose blankets in the cot.

How do I wash and care for bamboo baby products?

We recommend a gentle machine wash on a cold or warm cycle with a mild, eco-friendly detergent. Tumble dry on low or hang dry in the shade to keep the bamboo fibres beautifully soft wash after wash. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners, as bamboo is naturally soft and doesn't need them.

Is bamboo fabric suitable for babies with sensitive skin or eczema?

Yes, bamboo is a fantastic choice for sensitive little ones. It's incredibly soft and breathable against the skin, which is why so many parents of babies with sensitive skin choose it.

For more on why gentle, natural fabrics suit delicate little ones, read our guide to organic fabrics for sensitive skin.

What TOG rating are the sleeping bags and when should I use them?

Our bamboo sleeping bags have a 1.0 TOG rating, which is ideal for moderate room temperatures between roughly 21–24°C — pretty standard for most Aussie homes. For cooler nights, you can layer a lightweight bodysuit underneath. In warmer weather, a singlet or nappy alone under the sleeping bag works a treat.

For a closer look at matching warmth to the seasons, read our TOG rating guide.

Do these products make good baby shower or newborn gifts?

They really do! Our hooded bamboo bath towels with matching mitts and the sleeping bags in gorgeous colours like Rosa Pink Bunny, Twilight Pink, and Cove Green make stunning, thoughtful gifts. Parents absolutely love receiving high-quality essentials they can trust, and the beautiful designs make them extra special for gifting.

Are the reusable nursing pads absorbent and comfortable enough for daily use?

Definitely! Our organic bamboo nursing pads are designed for everyday wear, offering excellent absorbency while staying soft and gentle against sensitive skin. Each pack comes with eight pads so you'll always have a fresh pair ready, and they're fully washable, making them a more sustainable and cost-effective choice compared to disposables. They sit discreetly under clothing for all-day comfort.
